Crash Report Quality Scorecard

The Crash Report Quality Scorecard can be used by law enforcement agencies (LEA) to assess their officer-submitted crash reports for completeness and validity. After selecting a LEA from the drop-down, the resulting table compares the percentage of records with acceptable data quality (DQ) for each specific field, alongside the respective statewide DQ percentage, to identify areas needing improvement.

Massachusetts State Police records are categorized by Barracks, listed by name, “STATE POLICE TROOP…”

To examine crash report field requirements, please refer to the E-Manual Data Dictionary.

DQ percentage scores are representative of all relevant crash records where that field was considered mandatory, wherein the submitted data from the LEA was both complete and valid. For field scoring methodology see Data Quality Criteria worksheet.
